Crohn’s story: Part 2 (Am I disabled?)

Technically, yes I am disabled. But it’s a little more complicated than that.

Today is International Day of People with Disabilities. And something I don’t shout about (until recently when I can’t shut up about things!) is that I have a disability. 10 years ago, almost to the day, my Crohn’s disease was running rampant. My large intestines were inflamed af and I’d developed a pretty gruesome abscess. This meant I needed emergency surgery to have my large intestine re-routed and now I live with a stoma (I poo into a bag). The thing I’ve got is called an ileostomy
